Description
The H6Xi is Steiner’s hunting-focused riflescope line, built for shooters who want military-grade durability without sacrificing the optical clarity that low-light and long-range hunting demands. The 3-18x magnification range gives a practical spread from close-cover shots at dawn to precise work at extended distances, all without swapping optics or compromising your setup for a single-purpose scope.
The MHR reticle — Modern Hunting Reticle — is a rear focal plane design, which means the reticle subtensions stay the same apparent size regardless of magnification. That keeps the picture clean and uncluttered at low power when fast target acquisition matters most. The trade-off inherent to rear focal plane is that BDC marks and holdover points are calibrated for a specific power setting, so understanding which magnification they’re dialed to is part of using this reticle correctly. The illuminated subtensions extend usable shooting time into low-light conditions where a black wire alone would disappear against a dark background.
The 50mm objective pulls in enough light to support that illumination and the HD glass, which Steiner rates at 92% light transmission. The body is machined from 6061-T6 aluminum and sealed against water and fog — construction suited to the kind of weather that hunting seasons routinely produce. A locking diopter ring lets you dial your ocular focus and then secure it so it doesn’t drift during field use. The 30mm main tube provides a larger internal adjustment range than a one-inch tube, giving you more usable elevation and windage travel for dialing corrections at distance.
