Description

The CGS Hyperion K is built for shooters who need a capable 7.62mm suppressor on a short or maneuverable host without accepting the bulk that typically comes with full-size cans. It suits precision carbine builds, hunting setups where a long suppressor would be awkward in the field, and any application where weight on the muzzle is a genuine concern rather than an afterthought.

The core is constructed from Grade 5 (6AL-4V) titanium produced through Direct Metal Laser Sintering — a 3D-printing process that fuses metal powder layer by layer under a laser. DMLS allows CGS to produce internal gas flow geometry that would be impossible or prohibitively expensive to machine by conventional means. The heat treatment applied after printing refines the grain structure, and CGS’s research indicates that DMLS titanium can achieve grain uniformity comparable to or exceeding that of traditionally wrought alloy — a meaningful consideration for a suppressor absorbing repeated high-pressure gas pulses.

The gas path geometry is designed to vent combustion gases into the outer annulus of the suppressor quickly, which contributes to the flash signature reduction CGS emphasizes alongside sound attenuation. The front endcap is interchangeable and built from the same Grade 5 titanium as the core, so there’s no dissimilar-metal interface to complicate heat cycling. Thread adapters in 17-4 stainless steel are available separately for barrels with diameters under 0.725 inches or for hosts with a 1/2″-28 thread pitch; each adapter adds roughly 0.8 inches to overall length. The 5/8″-24 tpi direct-thread mount is what ships with this suppressor. The Hyperion K is designed and manufactured in Artesia, New Mexico.
