Description

The CGS MOD9X is built for shooters who run multiple hosts and refuse to compromise between portability and sound reduction. Its two-piece modular design lets you run the suppressor at full length when maximum suppression is the priority, or shorten it when a more compact package suits the platform better — no tools, no guesswork. That kind of configurability is genuinely useful rather than cosmetic: the same can sits on a full-size duty pistol one session and a compact carry gun the next, each time dialed in for the task rather than defaulting to a fixed compromise.

The core is machined from Grade 5 titanium, which carries a higher strength-to-weight ratio than the more common 304 or 316 stainless grades, keeping the overall weight low enough that balance on a handgun remains reasonable. The piston assembly is 4140 steel, a material chosen because it handles the repeated impact and pressure cycling of a self-regulating blowback piston without deforming over time. The piston uses twelve engagement points rather than a simpler two- or three-lug interface, which tightens the alignment of the suppressor to the bore across different hosts and reduces the point-of-impact shift that can occur when moving the can between firearms.

Specialized cuts machined into the piston body help bleed gas in a way that reduces first-round pop — the louder initial shot caused by oxygen trapped inside a suppressor before the gas seal is established. The included 1/2×28 piston covers the vast majority of 9mm threaded barrels on the market, and additional thread configurations are available separately if your host runs a different pitch.
