The C&H Precision Comp Max is built for competition shooting and duty carry where fast, positive target acquisition matters more than low-profile packaging. The large viewing window is a deliberate trade-off — it sacrifices some compactness to give the shooter an unobstructed sight picture at speed, particularly when drawing from a holster or transitioning between targets under pressure.

The multi-reticle system is the defining feature here. Rather than committing to a single aiming point, it lets you run a 2 MOA center dot alone for precise, longer-distance work, or pair it with a 38 MOA surrounding circle when you need to index a target quickly at close range. That flexibility is genuinely useful across different shooting disciplines without requiring a separate optic for each task.

Motion control technology — C&H Precision’s term for what other manufacturers call shake-awake — wakes the optic when it detects movement and powers it down after a period of stillness. In a carry or competition context, that means the dot is ready when the gun clears the holster without leaving the emitter running between stages or during transport. The auto shutoff backs this up as a secondary conservation measure, and C&H lists battery life at up to 50,000 hours on the lowest brightness setting using a common CR1632 cell.

The housing is CNC-machined from single-piece 7075-T6 aluminum, which keeps weight down while maintaining the rigidity needed to hold zero through the repeated recoil of +P and +P+ ammunition. Ten daylight brightness levels plus two night-vision-compatible settings handle the full range of lighting conditions. The RMR footprint makes this a direct fit for most optics-ready pistol slides and a wide range of aftermarket mounts.
