Description
The Banshee MK4 in .308 Win / 7.62 NATO is built for shooters who want a compact, hard-hitting platform that still accepts standard AR-pattern magazines and accessories. It is a pistol-format firearm, which keeps overall length short without requiring a permanently attached muzzle device to meet barrel-length thresholds — a practical configuration for home defense, truck use, or range work where maneuverability matters more than velocity retention.
Chambering a full-power .308 round in a platform this size involves real engineering trade-offs. CMMG addresses the pressure and bolt-velocity problem with their Radial Delayed Blowback operating system, which uses a rotating bolt head to cam against the barrel extension and slow the rearward cycle before the bolt carrier moves. The result is a softer impulse than a straight blowback would produce with this cartridge, and a gas-system design that does not require tuning for different loads the way a traditional direct-impingement or piston setup can.
The 12.5-inch barrel is threaded, so the shooter can mount a suppressor or muzzle device without additional gunsmithing. A 20-round magazine is included, keeping the gun usable with common .308 AR-pattern magazines. The manual safety gives the shooter positive on/off control without relying solely on trigger discipline, which matters in a short-format firearm handled in close quarters. The Armor Black Cerakote finish provides corrosion resistance without adding significant weight to a platform already optimized for compactness.
