Description
The Banshee MkGs is CMMG’s compact AR-format pistol built around double-stack Glock-pattern magazines, making it a natural pairing for shooters who already run a Glock 9mm and want to consolidate ammunition and magazine types across platforms. The “MkGs” designation signals that the lower is machined to accept those magazines natively, so feeding is governed by the same geometry you’d find in the pistol itself rather than an adapter — a meaningful reliability consideration in a carry or home-defense role.
The 8-inch barrel keeps the package tight without sacrificing the mechanical advantage that a longer sight radius and a closed bolt cycle provide over a conventional pistol. CMMG’s Radial Delayed Blowback operating system offsets the increased bolt velocity you’d expect from a short, straight-blowback 9mm design by using radially-cut lugs to create a brief delay at the moment of extraction — the practical result is a felt-recoil impulse that is noticeably softer than a comparably sized straight-blowback gun.
The receiver is finished in Tungsten Cerakote, which is CMMG’s own designation for this colorway rather than a generic gray. The barrel runs a Black Nitride finish, which provides corrosion resistance and a hard surface without adding meaningfully to bore diameter. The EML handguard carries full-length M-LOK slots on the sides and underside along with M-LOK panels between the top Picatinny rail sections, giving you flexible mounting real estate without committing to a single accessory layout. The optics-ready top rail means you bring your own zero reference. A 33-round Glock-pattern magazine is included, and the ambidextrous safety lever accommodates either-hand operation without modification.
