Description

The CMMG Dissent Mk4 is built around a patent-pending Compact Action that eliminates the traditional buffer tube entirely. That design choice is what defines this pistol: without a buffer tube extending rearward, the overall package becomes dramatically shorter and more manageable than a conventional AR-pattern pistol of equivalent barrel length, making it a credible personal defense weapon for vehicle carry, home defense, or any situation where a compact footprint matters.

The Compact Action uses a different recoil management approach than a standard direct-impingement or carbine-length gas system, cycling the bolt through an internal mechanism rather than relying on a receiver extension behind the lower. The result is a self-contained, bufferless design that still accepts standard AR-pattern controls and magazines. An adjustable gas block lets you tune the system for suppressed or unsuppressed fire, and the muzzle end is threaded 5/8-24 for .30-caliber muzzle devices.

The 5.5-inch M-LOK handguard surrounds a free-floated barrel, so contact between the handguard and barrel does not influence point of impact as grip pressure changes. The receiver wears a Midnight Bronze Cerakote finish rather than a standard anodize, which provides corrosion resistance alongside the distinctive appearance. The Zeroed drop-in single-stage trigger ships installed from the factory, and the pistol grip is a Zeroed OEM unit. The optic-ready top rail accepts any Picatinny-footprint optic, and the ambidextrous safety and ambidextrous magazine catch suit left- or right-handed shooters equally. Two 30-round magazines are included.
