Description
The CMMG Dissent Mk4 is built around a patent-pending Compact Action that eliminates the traditional buffer tube entirely, which is what makes the platform genuinely compact rather than just short. Without a buffer tube extending rearward, the pistol can be configured in ways a conventional AR-pattern design cannot, and the whole package stays tight enough to function as a serious personal defense weapon rather than a range curiosity.
Chambered in 5.7x28mm, the Dissent pairs a cartridge known for its flat trajectory and low recoil with a 6.5-inch free-floated barrel, letting the round develop meaningful velocity from a package that handles more like a large pistol than a carbine. The 5.5-inch M-LOK handguard gives you enough rail space to mount a light or laser without bulk, and the free-float arrangement means nothing is bearing against the barrel to affect your point of impact as you index accessories.
The trigger is a zeroed drop-in single-stage unit, which means CMMG has already done the fitting work — you are not getting a mil-specoldie that needs a trigger job out of the box. The Midnight Bronze Cerakote finish on the receiver is a factory color, not a rattle-can afterthought, and it holds up to handling and holster wear accordingly. Two 32-round magazines ship with the pistol, and the manual safety gives you a familiar AR-pattern control layout regardless of what your other rifles look like. No sights are included, so plan for an optic or a set of irons from the start.
