The CMMG Front Sight Base Assembly is a direct replacement or upgrade component for AR-15 rifles running a standard A2-style iron sight setup. It is intended for shooters who want to restore or build out a fixed front sight configuration rather than rely solely on a folding or rail-mounted option — a practical choice on a working rifle where simplicity and mechanical robustness matter.

The assembly is designed for barrels with a .750-inch gas journal diameter, which is the standard dimension on mil-spec carbine and rifle gas block seats. Getting that fit right is not optional: a sight base that does not seat flush against the correct journal diameter will shift under recoil and pull the point of impact with it. CMMG’s assembly addresses this with the appropriate bore diameter so it seats correctly without shimming or improvisation.

The “F” marking denotes a front-sight-base pattern that positions the sight at the correct height for standard AR-15 iron sight co-witness geometry. The assembly includes the front sight post and sling loop, so it arrives ready to install as a complete unit rather than requiring you to source those components separately.
