Description
Night Fision’s Optic Plate and Backup Sight Combo is built for Glock full-size MOS pistols and addresses a real problem with optics-equipped carry guns: if the red dot fails, you need a usable zero-magnification aiming solution immediately, not a hunt for the iron sights buried beneath a mounting plate. This kit pairs an Aimpoint ACRO-pattern optic plate with co-witness backup sights so both problems are solved in a single installation rather than sourcing a plate and sights separately and hoping they align.
The front sight uses a yellow tritium lamp, which offers faster acquisition in low light than a plain black post while remaining easy to pick up in daylight. The rear sight is blacked out, a deliberate contrast choice that draws the eye to the front lamp rather than splitting attention between two glowing elements. That front-bright, rear-dark configuration is a Night Fision design philosophy applied consistently across their lineup.
The plate itself is machined to accept the Aimpoint ACRO footprint, a sealed, enclosed-emitter design that protects the LED from the front rather than leaving it exposed as most micro red dots do. Mounting through a Glock MOS chassis means the pistol’s factory slide machining does the alignment work — no fitting required beyond standard torque. The combo format ensures the sights are designed around the plate’s specific height, which matters because a plate that sits too high or low relative to the bore axis will shift the backup sight picture away from the primary zero.
