The Colt LE6920-OEM2 is built for the shooter who already has strong opinions about furniture. It ships without a stock, handguard, or trigger guard — intentionally so — making it the starting point for a custom build that runs on a Colt-quality core rather than an aftermarket approximation of one. The upper and lower are complete and functional; what you supply is the fit and feel.

The chrome-lined barrel matters here beyond simple durability. Chrome lining resists corrosion and heat erosion, which extends service life under sustained fire, and it eases cleaning when the rifle has been run hard. The 1-in-7 twist rate is the faster end of the common AR spectrum, which stabilizes heavier projectiles — 62-grain and above — reliably. Shooters who prefer 77-grain match ammunition or standard M855 will find this twist rate suited to both without compromise.

A low-profile gas block is installed from the factory in place of a fixed front sight tower. That choice matters if you plan to run a free-floating handguard: a standard-height gas block would sit proud of most free-float rails, while the low-profile unit clears them cleanly. The included USGI barrel nut is compatible with a wide range of free-float systems, so you are not locked into a proprietary attachment standard. The flat-top upper gives you an unobstructed Picatinny rail across the full receiver length, ready for whatever optic or iron sight arrangement you intend to use.

This is a semi-automatic carbine chambered for both .223 Rem and 5.56 NATO, so it will accept the full range of commercially available ammunition in either headstamp without issue.
