Description

The Colt Enhanced Patrol Rifle II Pro in its 11.5-inch configuration is built around a short-barreled role: close-quarters work, vehicle operations, and any context where compactness matters more than terminal velocity at distance. It is a professional-grade tool aimed at serious shooters who want Colt’s military-contract manufacturing behind a compact package.

The 1-in-7 twist rate is worth understanding before you reach for a range bag. That fast spin was originally spec’d to stabilize heavier projectiles — 62-grain M855 and heavier bullets seat and fly true. If your ammunition diet runs lighter, say 55-grain M193, the twist will still stabilize those rounds adequately, but the barrel is optimized for heavier projectiles, which tend to perform better out of shorter barrels anyway. The two considerations dovetail.

The free-float handguard runs a full-length Picatinny top rail and Magpul M-LOK slots at multiple orientations, so lights, lasers, and grip panels mount without adapter clutter. Anti-rotation tabs and integrated steel QD sockets are built in, keeping the rail rigid under the mechanical stress that bipods and sling tension introduce. The platform is also suppressor-ready at the muzzle, which matters for a barrel length that produces a meaningful sound signature.

Controls lean toward adaptability. The ambidextrous safety selector accommodates left-handed shooters and strong-hand-only drills without modification. The PRO variant steps up to a Magpul MOE-K2 pistol grip and Magpul MBUS Pro folding sights — steel-bodied flip sights with more precise adjustment than the standard polymer MBUS 3 units found on the base EPR II. One 30-round magazine ships with the rifle.
