Description
The EOTech EXPS2-2 is a holographic weapon sight built for shooters who need fast, reliable target acquisition from contact distance out to several hundred yards. Where a traditional red dot projects a reticle onto a lens, a holographic sight works differently: the reticle is a holographic pattern reconstructed by a laser, which means it stays on target even if part of the window is obscured by mud, a gloved hand, or a cracked lens. That distinction matters in field conditions where a clear, full view of the glass is not guaranteed.
The EXPS2-2 carries a 68 MOA outer ring paired with two 1 MOA center dots. The ring acts as a rapid acquisition frame for close-range shooting, drawing your eye to the target before you consciously register the dots. The second dot below center gives you a holdover reference without stopping to dial adjustments, which is the practical reason to choose the two-dot variant over the single-dot EXPS2-0. Brightness is adjustable across 20 settings for consistent visibility from indoor low-light to full daylight.
The EXPS body is shorter than earlier EOTech housings, which moves the battery compartment to a transverse position on the left side of the sight rather than at the rear. That layout shortens the footprint on the rail and frees up receiver space for a compatible magnifier if you want to extend the sight’s effective range later. The side-mounted control buttons are also part of this design — they keep the interface away from the rear of the sight so magnifier co-witnessing remains clean. Power comes from a single CR123A lithium battery, and the sight seals to withstand submersion. The quick-detach lever locks to both 1-inch Weaver and MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rails without tools.
