The engineering behind that consistency starts with the Slipstream polymer tip. Where conventional polymer tips require a bullet to be traveling fast enough to generate sufficient hydraulic pressure for expansion, the Slipstream tip is designed to initiate reliable expansion at velocities roughly 200 fps lower than comparable designs. That means a bullet recovered from an animal at the far end of a long shot still expanded the way it was supposed to, rather than penciling through without transferring energy effectively.

At the other end of the distance scale, bonded construction handles the opposite problem. When a bullet strikes close and fast, the bond between the copper shank and lead core keeps the bullet together under the higher impact stress, driving deep through bone and tissue instead of fragmenting and losing penetration. Weight retention across both scenarios is the practical result.

The AccuChannel groove technology cut into the bullet’s shank reduces bearing surface contact with the bore, which lowers drag in flight and helps the bullet maintain its high ballistic coefficient through the trajectory. The G1 BC of .532 and G7 of .263 reflect a long, sleek profile that resists wind deflection better than shorter, stubbier hunting bullets at comparable weights. Federal loads this ammunition over a Gold Medal primer for ignition consistency shot to shot. Packaged in boxes of 20, this is a hunting round, not a practice round, and is priced accordingly.
