Description

The Lantac E-BCG is built for shooters who want a carrier that manages gas dynamics rather than simply cycling the action. The carrier is machined from 8620 steel, heat treated, then hard turned and ground after heat treat to hold precise dimensions where it matters most — not before, when subsequent thermal processes would shift them. The bolt is Carpenter 158 steel, shot peened with S110 shot to a controlled Almen strip intensity, then magnetically particle inspected. That combination of material, peening, and inspection is the reliability baseline the carrier is designed around.

The forward-porting arrangement changes how gas enters and exits the carrier. Instead of a conventional single exhaust path, the enlarged venting spreads the pressure pulse, which softens the initial impulse transmitted to the shooter and keeps more of the energy moving rearward rather than pressurizing the upper receiver interior. This becomes particularly relevant when running a suppressed barrel, where backpressure would otherwise amplify that effect — though Lantac is direct that the E-BCG is one piece of that solution, not the whole answer.

At the tail, a flared boss holds the carrier more consistently in the locked position within the upper receiver, reducing variability in that dwell moment and contributing to shot-to-shot consistency. The included CP-R360 cam pin, machined from 17-4PH stainless steel hardened to H900 condition, features a domed head rather than a flat one. The dome deflects away from the receiver’s interior surface during rotation, spreading contact across a curved geometry and reducing concentrated wear over time. The gas key is chrome lined internally, sealed with gasket compound, and staked at four points using Grade 8 fasteners.
