That distinction matters practically: direct impingement runs lighter and with a slightly lower bore axis feel compared to the piston-driven IC-SPR or IC-A5, trading some carbon-separation advantage for a flatter, more familiar recoil impulse that many precision-oriented shooters prefer for positional work and rapid follow-up shots.
