On a standard polymer magazine, the lug that engages the rifle’s magazine catch is the same material as the body — functional, but subject to gradual wear from repeated insertions and removals. Arsenal pressed a steel insert into that lug specifically to resist that wear point, keeping the lockup snug and consistent over the life of the magazine rather than allowing slop to develop as the polymer rounds off. That’s a meaningful design decision for any magazine that sees regular range use.

The profile is described by Arsenal as a five-round body — the exterior dimensions are narrower than a standard 30-round magazine — which can matter for prone shooting or bench work where a full-height magazine changes your cheek weld geometry.
