The body is impact-resistant polymer, which keeps weight low and provides the aggressive texturing CMMG built in for a positive grip under wet or gloved hands. The feed lips and the top of the magazine catch are hardened steel, so the surfaces that take the most abuse from repeated loading and insertion remain dimensionally stable over time. Inside, a non-tilt follower and constant-curve geometry work together to keep cartridges properly oriented throughout the full stack, and a stainless steel spring maintains consistent feed pressure as the magazine empties. The base plate slides off for straightforward disassembly and cleaning. Laser engraving identifies the caliber clearly so there is no confusion at the range.
