Description

The AFG-2 is Magpul’s compact take on the angled fore grip concept — built for shooters who want the ergonomic and recoil-management benefits of an angled grip without sacrificing rail space for other accessories. Where a conventional vertical fore grip drops the support hand below the bore axis, the AFG-2 positions the hand higher and closer to the centerline, which lets the shooter work with the direction of recoil rather than against it. The result is more consistent muzzle control between shots and faster reacquisition of a sight picture.

The slimmer, shorter body compared to the original AFG is the defining trade-off here: you give up some gripping surface but free up room on the rail for a light, pressure switch, or cover sections. Magpul recommends a minimum of three inches of rail for mounting, so it fits handguards where the original AFG would crowd out adjacent accessories. The three-piece polymer construction keeps weight low, and the grip ships with two interchangeable finger shelf inserts — a flat A1-style surface and a raised A2-style nub — so the shooter can dial in the feel based on hand size and technique. Mounting hardware is included, and the design is compatible with both MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny and NATO STANAG 4694 rails. Made in the USA.
