Description
The Magpul CTR is a mil-spec collapsible stock built for AR-15 carbines where a loose, rattling buffer tube interface is an actual problem rather than a minor annoyance. The fundamental issue with single-latch collapsible stocks is the tolerance gap between the lock pin and the buffer tube — enough play that the stock shifts under recoil or during movement. The CTR addresses this with a supplemental friction lock that presses against the tube at whatever length-of-pull you’ve set, damping that movement without requiring you to re-engage anything when you adjust. You set the LOP, the friction lock does its job passively.
The A-frame profile is a functional choice as much as an aesthetic one. It shields the ambidextrous release latch from accidental activation when the rifle is slung, pressed against a vest, or pulled from a vehicle. That same profile reduces snagging on gear during dynamic use — a genuine consideration for anyone running a chest rig or plate carrier. The release latch itself operates from either side without shifting your grip, which matters when you need to change LOP quickly with your support hand.
Sling attachment is covered through an integral QD socket and two footman’s loops built into the stock, accommodating single-point, two-point, and three-point configurations depending on your setup. The CTR also accepts snap-on Magpul CTR Cheek Risers if your optic requires additional eye relief height. The rubber buttpad is textured for purchase against slick body armor surfaces. This stock ships in Modified Coyote Brown and is made in the USA.
