Description

Magpul’s M-LOK Rail Cover Type 2 is a straightforward solution for shooters who want to protect open M-LOK slots on aluminum handguards while adding a more comfortable gripping surface in the process. Bare aluminum slots can catch on gear, abrade skin during extended carry, and offer little purchase when hands are wet or gloved. These covers address all three without meaningfully changing the profile of the handguard.

Each panel sits roughly an eighth of an inch proud of the mounting surface, keeping the overall diameter close to stock while introducing a trapezoidal surface projection texture — the same TSP geometry Magpul uses elsewhere in its lineup — that bites reliably without being harsh against bare hands. The beveled edges around each cover reduce the chance of snagging on a plate carrier or sling during a transition. Installation is direct to the handguard slot with no tools required, and because the design is non-orientation specific, there is no wrong way to seat them.

The pre-scored center locking tabs serve a secondary purpose beyond retention: scoring them lets you split covers and mix colors, which is useful if you want to mark specific grip zones or break up a monochromatic build. Six covers ship per package in Olive Drab Green, covering six individual M-LOK slots. For a shooter building out an M-LOK handguard from scratch, that quantity covers the bottom and sides of most mid-length handguards with slots to spare for swapping out as rail accessories change.
