MAGPUL MOE SL-K STOCK AR15/M4 FDE

Description

The MOE SL-K is Magpul’s answer to a specific problem: building a compact AR-15 or M4 platform where a conventional carbine stock eats too much overall length. It fits directly onto any mil-spec carbine buffer tube without modification, so it functions as a straight swap rather than a system overhaul.

The stock’s slim, shortened body trims length of pull at every position compared to a standard MOE stock, which matters when the build is intended to operate in tight spaces or with body armor in the equation. The smaller rubber butt-pad uses a rolled toe profile—a detail that makes a genuine difference when mounting from retention quickly, because a flat or sharp lower edge tends to catch on clothing during a fast shoulder. The 1.25-inch footman’s loop handles a standard sling attachment and also accepts an optional M-LOK QD Sling Mount if push-button QD swivels are the preferred sling interface, so the sling setup stays flexible without permanent modification to the stock.

The locking mechanism is where the SL-K departs most noticeably from conventional carbine stocks. The ambidextrous release latch is designed to take up slop against the receiver extension without adding a separate anti-rattle mechanism—no supplemental locks, levers, or springs required. The result is a stock that stays quiet and snug through its adjustment range without the usual compromise of adding parts to compensate for the tolerance stack. Construction is polymer throughout, keeping weight low in a position on the rifle where unnecessary mass has the most leverage against balance.
