Description
The SBA3 is SB Tactical’s most widely adopted adjustable AR pistol brace, and it earns that position by solving a specific problem: how to add adjustability to a compact AR build without loading the muzzle-end-heavy platform with unnecessary weight at the rear. Where the SBA4 prioritizes structural rigidity and the SBA5 trades some length for a stiffer shell, the SBA3 goes the other direction — its reinforced polymer construction keeps the brace to approximately 6.75 ounces, which matters on lighter pistol-caliber and short-barreled AR builds where every ounce at the rear affects how the firearm balances in a single-hand hold.
The five-position adjustment system rides on a standard mil-spec carbine receiver extension, which means it drops onto virtually any AR-pattern buffer tube already in your parts bin without a new purchase. Each position changes the distance between the grip and the rear of the brace, letting you tune the overall length of the package for different carry configurations or shooting setups without tools. The slim, approximately two-inch-wide profile keeps the brace from catching on gear or adding bulk to a setup that’s meant to stay compact.
An integral QD sling socket is built into the shell on both sides, so sling attachment is handled without an adapter — useful on a truck gun or any build where a sling is part of the carry plan from the start. This FDE version pairs directly with FDE-finished receivers, handguards, and furniture without requiring color-matched paint or cerakote work. The brace ships without a buffer tube, so it fits whatever extension your build already uses.
