Description

The Magpul MOE SL-M is a carbine stock built around a specific use case: compact, close-quarters platforms where a standard-length stock creates clearance problems or slows transitions. It fits Mil-Spec carbine buffer tubes as a direct drop-in replacement, so there is no fitting or modification required on the receiver extension itself.

The profile is shorter and slimmer than Magpul’s standard SL-K, which matters when the shooter is working in body armor or plate carriers. The angled toe and small rubber butt-pad are shaped to help the stock seat cleanly when the shooter’s shoulder is covered by soft armor or hard plates — a geometry choice that makes a real difference during rapid shoulder transitions rather than just static firing positions.

The locking mechanism is ambidextrous and shielded, which addresses two separate problems at once. The shield prevents the latch from being bumped open unintentionally during movement or vehicle operations. The design also eliminates rattle on the receiver extension without any secondary lock, lever, or added spring — the fit itself handles it. That keeps the part count low and removes components that can wear or require adjustment over time.

A 1.25-inch footman’s loop is built into the stock and accepts Magpul’s optional M-LOK QD Sling Mount, allowing push-button QD swivel attachment without drilling or adapters. The stock does not include the QD mount; it provides the anchor point for one if the shooter chooses to add it. Construction is polymer throughout, keeping weight minimal on a platform that is already optimized for compactness.
