Description

The Magpul MS4 QDM Sling is built for shooters who need to move fast and carry a rifle comfortably for extended periods — whether that means running a patrol rifle on duty, competing in a dynamic shooting event, or simply keeping a long gun manageable in the field. It converts between one-point and two-point configurations, and the mechanism that makes that conversion quick is worth understanding: rather than standard push-button quick-disconnect hardware, it uses Magpul’s own QDM swivels, which are factory-installed on both ends. The QDM design sits lower in the socket and releases with a single-handed motion even when the sling is under load — a meaningful difference when you need to transition quickly or drop the rifle to a secondary.

The swivels and the connecting D-Ring are steel with a Melonite finish, which resists corrosion and surface wear more reliably than blued or phosphate-coated steel in wet or high-humidity conditions. The rotating bale on each QDM swivel keeps the webbing aligned as the sling moves, so the nylon doesn’t roll over on itself and bind during adjustment. That adjustment runs through a low-profile slider derived from the MS1 Sling system, which eliminates dangling tails or loose loops that could catch on gear or doorframes. The 1.25-inch nylon webbing is proprietary and carries a Near Infrared treatment, which reduces the sling’s IR signature — relevant if you’re working in environments where night-vision equipment is in use.
