Description
The Magpul Rail Light Mount is designed for shooters who want a weapon light positioned where it actually works rather than where the rail happens to be. Mounting to any standard 1913 Picatinny rail, it cantilevers the light forward and places it at the 1 o’clock position — a geometry that serves two practical purposes. First, it allows the support hand to move further forward on the handguard, which improves muzzle control and gives the shooter a more natural firing grip. Second, keeping the light body close to the bore reduces barrel shadow, the dark cone that appears when a light mounted too far outboard casts the barrel into its own beam at close range.
The mount integrates with Magpul XTM rail panels, so it fits cleanly into a modular panel setup without creating gaps or hardware conflicts. A textured thumb ramp is built into the body to give the support hand a consistent, repeatable index point — useful when you need to find your grip quickly under pressure without looking at the hardware. The included anodized aluminum mounting rings accommodate light bodies ranging from 0.75 to 1.03 inches in diameter, which covers the SureFire 300 and 600 Scout Light series as well as 1913-attachment pistol lights. The polymer construction keeps weight down without requiring additional hardware to complete the installation — everything needed to mount a compatible light ships with the unit. This is the right-hand variant in black.
