The Magpul MIAD/MOE Storage Core (MAG057-BLK) turns otherwise wasted space inside your pistol grip into a secure compartment for the parts most likely to strand you in the field. The internal cavity is sized to hold one complete standard AR-15/M4 bolt assembly along with a firing pin — the two components that, if they fail or get left on the workbench, render the rifle inoperable. Keeping spares literally inside the grip means they travel with the rifle, not in a bag that might stay in the truck.

The core fits both the MIAD and MOE grip platforms, slotting in as the internal unit around which those grips are built. One compatibility note worth knowing before you order: because the MOE+ and MOE-K2+ grips use rubber overmolding, their internal dimensions are slightly tighter than standard MOE and MIAD grips, and this core will not fit those two models. If you are running either of those grips, this is not the right storage core for your setup.

There is no moving parts or latching mechanism to maintain — the core itself is a straightforward structural insert.
