Description

The MDT Elite Muzzle Brake is built for precision rifle shooters who need to track their own impacts downrange without losing the sight picture to recoil. That requires managing both muzzle rise and the concussive blast that disrupts follow-through, and MDT addresses each separately rather than treating them as a single problem.

The baffles are cut at 35 degrees, an angle that redirects propellant gases aggressively enough to pull the muzzle forward against the direction of recoil rather than simply venting gas to the sides. MDT rates the result at up to 66% recoil reduction. The rear baffle uses a straight cut rather than an angled one—a deliberate trade-off that bleeds less gas rearward toward the shooter, reducing the concussive pressure at the bench or in a prone position.

Construction is alloy steel with a nitride finish. Nitride penetrates the surface of the steel rather than sitting on top of it, so it holds up to the heat and carbon fouling at the muzzle without adding meaningful diameter to the brake. The included overlapping lock nut serves two purposes: it locks the brake in position under recoil, and it gives the shooter a way to index the brake precisely, so the baffles sit exactly where intended rather than wherever the threads happen to stop.
