Description
The Proof Research Elevation 2.0 is built for hunters and precision shooters who want a rifle light enough to carry in the field without giving up the accuracy expected at a bench. The platform is organized around the Zermatt Arms Origin action, a bolt-action receiver machined to tolerances that keep the barrel-to-receiver interface consistent across sustained strings of fire — which matters in 300 PRC more than in many cartridges, because the 300 PRC runs at high pressure and extracts a lot of work from the action on every shot.
The barrel is a carbon fiber-wrapped, match-grade unit. Carbon fiber wrapping reduces mass substantially compared to a contoured steel barrel of equivalent stiffness, so the rifle carries lighter without the harmonic instability of a pencil-thin steel tube. The 1-in-9 twist rate is optimized for the long, high-BC projectiles the 300 PRC was designed around — typically bullets in the 200–230 grain range — and will stabilize them reliably at the velocities this cartridge produces from a 22-inch barrel. The muzzle is threaded 5/8×24, the standard for .30-caliber work, so the barrel is ready for a muzzle device without modification.
The Midnight Camo carbon fiber stock keeps weight down while providing a rigid bedding platform — carbon fiber doesn’t swell or shift with humidity the way wood does, which preserves point-of-impact consistency across changing conditions. No sights are included, which is appropriate for a rifle intended to be scoped from the start. Proof Research backs the build with a sub-MOA accuracy guarantee, a commitment tied to the combination of the wrapped barrel, action quality, and stock rigidity rather than any single component in isolation.
