Description
The Elevation MTR 2.0 is Proof Research’s answer to a specific problem: building a bolt-action rifle light enough to carry in the mountains while still capable of the mechanical accuracy that long-range shooting demands. It is aimed at hunters and precision shooters who are not willing to trade one for the other.
The foundation of that compromise is the Sendero contour carbon fiber barrel. Carbon fiber wrapping around a steel liner sheds weight relative to a conventional steel profile of the same stiffness, and the thermal properties of the composite help resist heat-induced point-of-impact shift during sustained fire. The barrel is threaded, so a suppressor or muzzle device can be added without a gunsmith.
The 1-in-7.5-inch twist rate is matched closely to the 6.5 PRC cartridge and the heavy, high-BC projectiles it is typically loaded with. A faster twist than many older 6.5mm barrels, it stabilizes long-for-caliber bullets reliably, which matters at extended range where projectile form factor drives how well the bullet retains velocity and resists wind deflection.
The action is a Zermatt Arms Origin, fed by a detachable box magazine. The trigger is a TriggerTech unit, which uses a frictionless roller mechanism rather than a conventional sear contact surface, producing a release with minimal travel and a consistent break weight across temperature ranges. The stock is Proof’s own fixed carbon fiber design in Black Granite, keeping the rifle’s mass low without sacrificing rigidity at the bedding interface. A Picatinny rail on the receiver provides a standardized mounting surface for any compatible optic.
