Description

The Radian AX556 Builder Kit is built for the shooter who wants to assemble a complete upper and lower pairing around a foundation of fully ambidextrous controls rather than retrofitting those controls onto an existing platform. Where most AR-pattern builds start conventional and add ambi features piecemeal, this kit starts there from the ground up — left-handed shooters get the same uncompromised interface as right-handed ones without adapters or compromises in control placement.

The kit is machined from billet aluminum rather than forged stock. Billet construction allows tighter, more complex internal geometries in a single piece, which means the receiver dimensions are held more consistently throughout and the aesthetic lines can be more refined — though the trade-off is added material cost and machining time. The Cerakote Gray finish is applied over that billet surface, providing corrosion and abrasion resistance that bare anodizing alone does not match.

The 14-inch M-LOK handguard gives the shooter a meaningful amount of rail space for lights, lasers, or other accessories while keeping the overall package compact enough to handle efficiently in tight environments. M-LOK attachments bear directly against the handguard body rather than floating on a separate rail section, which reduces the rocking or shift that can occur with older Picatinny-mounted accessories under repeated handling.

Included in the kit are a Raptor-SD ambidextrous charging handle, a Talon 45/90 ambidextrous safety selector, ambidextrous bolt catch and magazine release, an enhanced takedown pin set, and an aluminum barrel nut — the components needed to close the gap between a barreled upper and a complete, function-ready build. Each assembly is hand-built and function-checked by a Radian gunsmith before it ships, and the kit carries Radian’s lifetime guarantee.
