Description

The Radian Model 1 complete upper in 6mm ARC is built for the shooter who wants a compact, capable platform suited to both precision work at distance and general-purpose use. The cartridge itself was designed from the ground up for the AR-15 bolt-face envelope, offering meaningfully better ballistic coefficient and wind resistance than traditional intermediate calibers without requiring a different receiver architecture. That makes this upper a direct swap onto a standard AR-15 lower.

The 14.5-inch barrel runs a mid-length gas system, which spreads the dwell time and pressure curve over a longer stroke than a carbine-length setup. In practical terms, that translates to a softer impulse and reduced bolt velocity at the back of the cycle, which is easier on components and more comfortable to shoot in sustained strings. The 1:7 twist stabilizes the heavier, high-BC 6mm projectiles that make the ARC cartridge worth using — lighter or shorter bullets will also run, but the twist is optimized toward the end of the weight range where the round earns its keep at range.

The barrel carries a Black Nitride finish, which is a surface hardening treatment that works into the steel rather than sitting on top of it. It resists corrosion, reduces friction at the bore, and holds up to heat without the thickness variation that some coating processes introduce. The Dead Air KeyMo flash hider is pinned to bring the overall assembly to a 16-inch nominal length, and it is compatible with Dead Air suppressors using the KeyMo mounting system. Radian fits the upper with a 14-inch M-LOK handguard, their Raptor-SD ambidextrous charging handle, and their Enhanced Bolt Carrier Group, all assembled and function-checked by hand before shipping.
