The Radian Model 1 Builder Kit is aimed at shooters who want to assemble a precision AR-pattern rifle around a matched upper and lower without sourcing components piecemeal. Everything in the kit is designed to work as a system, which matters most when fitting a billet upper to a lower — billet construction allows tighter receiver fitment than forged alternatives permit, reducing wobble between the two halves and giving the assembled rifle a more consistent feel shot to shot.

The Raptor-SD charging handle replaces the standard latch with an ambidextrous design that can be actuated from either side without shifting the firing grip. This is especially relevant when running a suppressor, since the Raptor-SD’s sealed latch geometry is intended to reduce the amount of propellant gas that vents rearward through the charging handle gap. The Radian AX556 lower receiver carries ambidextrous controls throughout, so manipulations like the bolt catch and safety are reachable with the support hand without any adapter or afterthought hardware.

The Talon safety selector offers distinct, positive detents and is available with multiple throw angles, which lets the builder tune the distance the selector travels between safe and fire to match their grip and thumb length. The 17-inch handguard provides substantial rail real estate forward of the receiver, giving a shooter room to establish a very extended support-hand position for improved natural point of aim and recoil control. The Flat Dark Earth finish is Radian’s own coating applied consistently across all components in the kit, so the upper, lower, and handguard arrive visually matched rather than requiring the builder to chase a color across separate vendors.
