Description

The Radian Weapons Model 1 complete upper in .300 AAC Blackout is built for shooters who want a compact, suppressor-ready platform without compromising on mechanical quality. The 9-inch barrel runs a pistol-length gas system, which shortens the dwell time the expanding gas has to act on the bolt carrier. On a subsonic-heavy diet this keeps extraction crisp; on supersonic loads it contributes to a snappier but manageable impulse — a trade-off typical of short .300 BLK builds rather than a deficiency of this one.

The barrel itself is 416R stainless steel finished in Black Nitride. Nitride treatment hardens the bore surface and resists carbon fouling at the crown, which matters more on a suppressed host where back-pressure accelerates deposit buildup. The barrel is threaded 5/8×24, the standard pattern for .300 BLK muzzle devices, and the upper ships with a SilencerCo ASR flash hider that doubles as a suppressor mount.

Radian machines the upper receiver from billet 7075-T6 aluminum with M4 feed ramps, then mates it rigidly to a proprietary extended handguard through an integrated stainless steel anti-rotation pin — eliminating the play you sometimes get when a handguard indexes only against the barrel nut. The handguard accepts Magpul M-LOK accessories. The bolt carrier group is an M16-profile part with the same Black Nitride finish as the barrel. Controls are fully ambidextrous, and the Radian Raptor-SD charging handle is optimized for suppressed use, venting gas away from the shooter’s face.
