Description

The Reptilia AUS Mount is a one-piece scope mount built for shooters who demand a stable, repeatable optic platform under hard use. It was developed over two years at the request of an end-user group, which means its geometry and clamping design reflect field feedback rather than a catalog exercise. The mount attaches to a standard M1913 Picatinny rail, and the single-piece construction eliminates the ring-alignment step that comes with two-piece systems — once torqued down, the scope tube sits in a fixed relationship to the bore without the user having to lap or shim anything.

The body is machined from billet 7075-T6 aluminum, a material that offers a meaningful strength-to-weight advantage over softer aluminum alloys, keeping the mount light without sacrificing the structural rigidity that prevents point-of-impact shift under recoil. The rail clamp uses a spring-loaded nitrided steel interface, which resists wear at the contact surface and maintains consistent clamping force across repeated on- and off-rifle cycles. The exterior carries a Mil-Spec Type III hard anodize coating in Flat Dark Earth — a harder surface treatment than standard Type II anodizing, which matters for a component that takes regular handling and field exposure. At 1.70 inches of center height, the mount positions a 30mm scope tube high enough to work with a chin weld on stocks with an elevated comb, and accommodates objective lenses up to 86mm without the tube contacting the rail.
