The Reptilia AUS Mount was developed at the direct request of an end-user group over a two-year period, and that origin shows in the details. It is built for shooters who need a secure, repeatable platform for 34mm magnified optics on a rifle running an M1913 Picatinny rail — the kind of setup that sees hard use in training, competition, or field work where a mount that shifts zero or snags gear creates real problems.

The entire body is machined from a single piece of billet 7075-T6 aluminum, which eliminates the joint between separate ring halves that can introduce flex under recoil or over-torquing. The one-piece cantilever design also means the mounting surface to the rail and the rings are held in a fixed, machined relationship to each other, so the optic goes back to the same position every time if the mount is removed and reinstalled.

The rail clamp uses an anti-snag, spring-loaded nitrided steel mechanism and a custom bolt that accepts either a 5/32-inch hex key or a flat-blade driver — the bolt sits flush with the body so there are no protruding fastener heads to catch on gear or a case. The 1.54-inch center height positions the optical axis at a practical cheek-weld height for most modern rifle stocks with a lower Picatinny rail. The exterior finish is a Mil-Std Type III, Class 2 hard anodize coating, which is a hard, wear-resistant surface that goes into the aluminum rather than sitting on top of it, so it does not add meaningful thickness to critical dimensions.
