Description
The Reptilia AUS Mount is built for shooters who run 34mm magnified optics on demanding platforms and need a mount that won’t compromise zero under hard use. Reptilia developed it over two years at the direct request of an end-user group, which shaped its geometry and clamping approach rather than leaving those decisions to convention.
The mount is machined as a single piece from billet 7075-T6 aluminum — a one-piece construction that eliminates the ring-to-base interface where alignment error typically enters a two-piece system. The 1.54″ center height positions the optic low enough to maintain a natural cheek weld on most rifle stocks while still clearing standard objective lenses in the 34mm tube class. That height is a deliberate balance point: go lower and you lose clearance; go higher and you introduce the head-lift that slows follow-up shots.
The clamp mechanism uses an anti-snag, spring-loaded nitride steel clamp with a fastener that accepts either a 5/32″ hex driver or a flat-blade driver — useful when a full toolkit isn’t available in the field. The mount is finished in Mil-Std Type III, Class 2 Hard Anodize in Flat Dark Earth, a coating hardness that resists wear at contact points and holds up to the abrasion that comes with regular field handling. It attaches to any M1913 Picatinny rail and is compatible with the same platforms Reptilia designed the DOT Mount line around. For a shooter investing in a quality 34mm optic, this mount is sized and built to protect that investment without adding unnecessary mass to the rifle.
