Description
The Reptilia AUS Offset Mount exists to solve a specific tactical problem: getting a fast-acquisition enclosed red dot onto a rifle without sacrificing your primary optic’s field of view or forcing a compromise in head position. It mounts laterally off the AUS Mount body rather than inline, letting you roll the rifle slightly to index the offset optic rather than shifting your entire shooting position. That approach suits any shooter who needs a dedicated secondary sight — particularly those running magnified optics who want to engage close targets without dialing down or breaking their cheek weld.
Compatibility here is deliberate. The mount accepts the Aimpoint ACRO and Steiner Optics MPS footprint, which means it also works with any enclosed miniature red dot that shares that same pattern. The ACRO footprint’s enclosed design keeps the emitter and lens protected from the environment, which matters when the optic is riding at an angle and exposed to more debris than a top-mounted sight would see.
One practical detail worth noting is reversibility. The mount can be configured for either the left or right side of the AUS Mount body, using four dedicated mounting locations built into the AUS system. That means the same hardware works regardless of which side of the rifle the shooter prefers or which hand they favor. The finish is matte Black, consistent with Reptilia’s other AUS system components for a matched appearance when running the complete setup.
