Description

The Riton 3 Tactix MPRD 3 is a micro pistol red dot built around everyday carry and defensive use on compact and subcompact handguns. Its RMSc footprint fits the slide cutouts found on most smaller-framed pistols, and a Picatinny rail adapter is included so the same optic can be moved onto a shotgun or long gun without additional hardware.

Rather than offering a single fixed reticle, the MPRD 3 gives the shooter three illuminated options: a 3 MOA dot alone, a 30 MOA circle alone, or the dot nested inside the circle. The 3 MOA dot keeps the aiming point small enough to be precise at distance, while the 30 MOA circle lets the eye find the target quickly at close range without hunting for the dot. The optic saves your last-used reticle and brightness setting, so it comes up in the same configuration it was left in — useful when speed matters.

Ten brightness levels cover the range from low-light indoor use through full daylight, with the two lowest settings compatible with night vision. Controls sit on the left side of the housing and are sized to work with gloves. The integrated hood over the glass protects the lens from contact damage and reduces glare without requiring a separate sunshade accessory.

Motion-sensing auto-wake brings the optic on as the gun is drawn, which matters both for response time and for battery life. The side-loading battery tray means the optic does not have to come off the gun for a battery change — a practical advantage on a pistol where re-zeroing after remounting is a real concern. Riton rates battery life at 50,000 hours in the auto-off mode. Weight comes in under one ounce.
