Description
The Riton Contessa 30mm Quick Detach mount is built for shooters who move between rifles or need to pull a scope for transport and return to zero reliably. The quick-detach lever system lets you dismount and remount the optic without tools, and the design is intended to hold zero through repeated cycles — useful on a dedicated hunting rifle that sees a scope come off every season, or on a range setup where the same optic shares more than one host.
The 20 MOA of forward cant built into the base serves a specific purpose: it offsets the scope’s internal adjustment range toward the target end of the travel, which matters most at extended distances where a flat base would leave you running out of elevation before you reach your zero. Rather than burning through your scope’s internal adjustments just to establish a 100-yard zero, the canted base gives you that headroom back for dialing at distance.
Construction is hardened steel throughout, which adds weight compared to an aluminum mount but eliminates the flex and compression that softer materials can introduce under recoil — particularly relevant with heavy-recoiling chamberings where cumulative movement under the ring feet can shift zero over time. The Picatinny interface indexes to the rail’s cross-slots, giving you a repeatable mounting position each time the mount goes back on. The matte black finish reduces reflective signature without requiring additional treatment.
