Description

The Rosco Bloodline is a drop-in replacement barrel built for Glock 17 Gen 1–4 pistols, aimed at shooters who want a more durable or better-finished alternative to the factory barrel without any fitting work. It is machined from 416R stainless steel, a grade chosen for its corrosion resistance and dimensional stability under heat, then finished in Melonite. Melonite is a ferritic nitrocarburizing treatment that diffuses nitrogen and carbon into the surface of the steel rather than depositing a coating on top of it, which keeps the bore’s finished dimensions intact while producing a hard, slick surface that resists wear and fouling.

The rifling is cut using a pulled broach, a method that removes material in a single controlled pass and leaves a consistent groove geometry from chamber to muzzle. The 1:10 right-hand twist is well-suited to the range of bullet weights commonly used in 9mm defensive and range ammunition—heavier projectiles in the 147-grain range stabilize reliably, and the twist does not over-spin lighter 115-grain loads to the point of degrading accuracy. The crown is recessed with a 50/50 surface split, meaning the rifling lands and grooves share equal exposure at the muzzle face, which protects the crown from contact damage and keeps gas release symmetrical as the bullet exits. The barrel fits without modification to the host pistol’s slide or frame, and no new recoil spring or guide rod is required.
