Description

The Rugged Suppressors 2 Port Brake is built for shooters who run a 5.56 platform unsuppressed and want meaningful recoil reduction without sacrificing the ability to mount a suppressor later. Two ports redirect propellant gases upward and to the sides, reducing muzzle rise and pushing felt recoil rearward rather than letting it spike sharply — a practical difference when running multiple strings of fire quickly or working from unconventional positions.

What sets this brake apart from a standard muzzle device is the Dual Taper Locking System. Rather than relying on a crush washer or standard indexing shims alone, the tapered engagement surfaces create a secure mechanical interface between the brake and compatible Rugged suppressors — specifically the Radiant 762, Surge 7.62, Razor 7.62, and Micro30. That connection matters: a suppressor that indexes consistently onto a brake will hold zero better through repeated attach-and-detach cycles than one with slop in the mount. Timing shims are included, so you can index the ports correctly on installation without sourcing hardware separately.

The 30-caliber aperture accommodates the bore diameter of 5.56 with adequate clearance while keeping the brake compact. The 1/2″-28 thread pitch is the standard for most 5.56 and .223 barrels, so fitment on a typical AR-15 is straightforward.
