Description
The Hexium 556 is built for shooters running 5.56mm carbines in demanding conditions — duty use, high-volume training, and fast-paced carbine work where a suppressor needs to hold up without becoming a maintenance burden. Sig Sauer produces the tube through an additive manufacturing process using Inconel, a nickel-chromium alloy chosen for its ability to maintain structural integrity under sustained heat and pressure that would degrade stainless steel or aluminum over time. That material choice matters most in full-auto or rapid semi-auto fire, where heat cycles are aggressive and frequent.
The internal geometry is optimized around low back pressure, which reduces the volume of propellant gas routed back through the action and into the shooter’s face. On a direct-impingement carbine, that translates to a noticeably cleaner shooting environment during extended sessions. The design keeps the tube compact enough — 5.9 inches — that it doesn’t substantially shift a rifle’s balance point forward, which becomes relevant when moving with a weapon or shooting from barricades.
Attachment uses a 1/2×28 direct-thread HUB mount, and the HUB-compatible interface allows for swapping the mount configuration with compatible adapters rather than committing permanently to a single host. The end-cap system is modular, meaning the front cap can be replaced or upgraded without affecting the rest of the suppressor. The exterior carries a hexagonal profile finished in Black Cerakote, which provides corrosion resistance and doubles as structural geometry reinforcing the outer surface. Sig backs the Hexium line with their Infinite Guarantee.
