The Romeo-RS Compact is Sig Sauer’s answer to shooters who want a miniature reflex sight that doesn’t demand a large footprint on the slide or receiver. Its open-emitter design keeps the window unobstructed and makes target acquisition fast in close-quarters or dynamic shooting situations — there is no housing to frame your view, just the dot against the target.

The green dot reticle is a deliberate choice rather than a default. Green sits closer to the peak sensitivity range of the human eye in daylight, which means the dot reads as crisp and defined against bright backgrounds where a red dot can wash out or require more brightness to compensate. Eight brightness settings let you dial in the right intensity from dim indoor ranges to harsh outdoor light without the dot bleeding over the target.

Sig specifies a CR1632 battery and rates runtime at 20,000 hours, which translates to leaving the sight on continuously for over two years before you need to think about a swap. The lens carries Sig’s Spectracoat optical coating, which manages glare and light transmission at the glass itself rather than relying solely on brightness to cut through reflections. Adjustment is in MOA clicks, keeping zeroing consistent with the same tooling and process you use for any other Sig optic. At just over an inch and a half long, it fits standard footprints on compact handguns without requiring an adapter plate on most modern pistol cuts.
