Description

The Tango MSR Compact is built for shooters who run a carbine in demanding conditions and need a scope that can hold its own at close quarters and stretch out to medium range without a mount swap or a compromise on usability. Second focal plane placement means the BDC8 reticle subtensions are calibrated at maximum power, so ranging and holdover work as designed when you’re running the scope at 8x — at lower magnifications the reticle simply gets smaller along with the image, which is a reasonable trade for the cleaner, uncluttered sight picture you get at 1x during fast close work.

The illuminated BDC8 reticle gives you a visible aiming point in low light or against dark backgrounds where an unlit reticle would wash out or disappear, and six brightness settings let you match the illumination to ambient conditions rather than fighting an overpowering dot in dim environments. The off position between each increment means you can cut illumination quickly without cycling through the full range. Metal turrets handle windage and elevation adjustments and hold up better under repeated field handling than polymer alternatives.

The scope ships with a factory-mounted and pre-leveled ALPHA-MSR aluminum cantilever mount already installed, which removes the alignment work that trips up a lot of first-time LPVO installations. Lay-flat flip-back lens covers and a removable throw lever are also included. The 30mm main tube is sealed for waterproof, shockproof, and fogproof performance, and the optical system is built around low-dispersion glass for edge-to-edge clarity — useful at 8x, where marginal glass shows its limits. Total weight including the mount comes in at 14.5 ounces.
