Description
The EOTech Vudu 1-8x24mm SFP is built for shooters who need a single optic to cover close-quarters work and reach out to moderate distances without swapping glass. At true 1x, both eyes stay open naturally and the illuminated green HC3 reticle sits in the field of view without distorting or magnifying the target — the way a dedicated red dot would. Dialing up toward the high end of the magnification range lets the same optic resolve detail at distances where a fixed low-power sight becomes a liability.
The reticle sits in the second focal plane, which means its subtensions are calibrated at a specific magnification setting rather than scaling with zoom. That is worth understanding before you use the MOA holdover marks: the hash values printed into the HC3 reticle are accurate only at the magnification for which EOTech designed them, so confirm that before ranging or holding for wind. At 1x for a fast target, this is irrelevant — the reticle functions as a simple aiming point.
The HC3 reticle itself is a Christmas-tree-style pattern with MOA-based wind and elevation holds, giving you the ability to hold for multiple firing solutions without adjusting the turrets. That matters in a dynamic environment where you want to keep your eyes on the target rather than manage knobs. The green illuminated center speeds acquisition in low light without the eye fatigue some shooters notice from red reticles during extended sessions.
The tube is machined from aircraft-grade aluminum with an anodized finish and is sealed against fog and water intrusion, so the zero holds regardless of weather conditions on the range or in the field.
