Description

The Sig Sauer Whiskey6 3-18×44 is built for hunters who need a single scope capable of covering both close-range shots in heavy timber and precise work at distance in open country. The 6x zoom ratio is what makes that range practical: the low end is wide enough for snap shots in brushy terrain, while the upper end gives you enough magnification to confidently place a shot on game at extended ranges without the scope becoming unwieldy to carry all day.

Because this is a first focal plane design, the milling reticle scales correctly at every power setting. That matters in the field because you can range an animal or call a wind correction without first having to crank the power to a specific reference point — the math holds at 5x just as it does at 18x. A second focal plane scope requires you to be at maximum power before your reticle subtensions are accurate; the Whiskey6 eliminates that constraint entirely.

The MRAD reticle and MRAD turrets share the same unit of measure, which keeps field corrections straightforward: a half-mil observation translates directly to a half-mil turret input with no conversion. For hunters who also shoot at the range and want to dial rather than hold, that consistency between reticle and adjustment removes a potential source of error under time pressure.

The 44mm objective lens gives the scope a meaningful light-gathering advantage during the low-light periods — dawn and dusk — when deer and elk tend to move. Paired with the 30mm main tube, the optical system has the physical room to deliver a bright, high-contrast image through the full magnification range.
