Description

The Safariland 578 GLS Pro-Fit is an outside-the-waistband holster built for shooters who carry different handguns on different days without wanting a separate holster for each one. The adjustable Pro-Fit design accommodates more than 225 firearms within its size range, so the same unit can transition between duty guns, range guns, and carry pistols as your lineup changes.

The retention mechanism is the Grip Lock System, which works passively — the weapon is secured automatically the moment it seats in the holster. To draw, the middle finger presses the release lever as part of a natural shooting grip, so the motion that unlocks the holster is the same motion you would use regardless. There is no separate thumb snap or lever to learn around; the release happens as a byproduct of acquiring your grip, which keeps the draw intuitive under stress.

The holster body is made from SafariSeven, Safariland’s proprietary nylon-based material. It is non-abrasive against a firearm’s finish, handles temperature extremes in both directions, and does not require the same maintenance a leather holster does. The low-cut profile keeps the muzzle end open enough to clear optics on compatible pistols, and the design rides close to the body for concealment under a cover garment. The included injection-molded paddle and belt loop give you two carry options from the same purchase, and the belt loop can be adjusted for cant and configured for cross-draw carry. This variant is configured for right-hand draw.
