Description
The Safariland 578 GLS Pro-Fit is a concealment holster built for carriers who want a secure, retention-based draw without the complexity of thumb-operated devices. It suits everyday carry and plainclothes use where a low-profile paddle or belt loop attachment keeps the holster close to the body and out of sight.
The core of the design is the Grip Lock System. When the pistol is seated, a locking mechanism automatically engages without any manual step from the user. To draw, the middle finger presses the release lever as part of a natural shooting grip — the retention deactivates in the same motion used to acquire the gun. There is no separate thumb break or button to remember under stress; the release is built into the grip itself.
The holster body is made from SafariSeven, Safariland’s proprietary nylon blend. The material is non-abrasive against a firearm’s finish, which matters for a holster worn daily, and it handles temperature extremes in both directions without becoming brittle or soft. The fit is adjustable across a broad range of compact pistols, so the same holster body can accommodate different handguns as a user’s carry setup changes over time.
Two attachment options ship in the box: an injection-molded paddle for quick on-and-off, and an injection-molded belt loop sized for standard 2.25-inch duty belts. The belt loop allows cant adjustment and can be configured for cross-draw carry. Both attachments ride the holster close to the body, supporting concealment under a cover garment. The low-cut mouth keeps the trigger guard accessible for a fast draw without printing or snagging. This variant is configured for right-hand draw and is optic capable.
