Description

The Safariland Model 7378 7TS is built for plainclothes carry and off-duty use, where concealment matters but the ability to draw under stress matters more. It occupies a practical middle ground: more retention than a simple friction-fit holster, without the multi-step release sequence of a Level III duty rig.

The retention comes from Safariland’s Automatic Locking System. As the pistol seats fully into the holster, ALS engages a lock over the trigger guard automatically — no manual step required on the draw. To draw, the thumb sweeps the release lever as the shooting grip is established, so the unlock happens as part of the natural motion rather than as a separate action. The holster remains open-top in profile, which means nothing interrupts the upward path of the gun once the lock releases.

The shell is formed from SafariSeven, Safariland’s proprietary non-marking nylon blend. Unlike Kydex, SafariSeven remains flexible across a wider temperature range and will not scratch or abrade a pistol’s finish during holstering. Raised interior stand-offs keep the bore of the gun slightly clear of the holster walls, so dirt and moisture have a path to clear rather than packing around the muzzle.

This variant mounts via Safariland’s paddle and belt loop combo attachment, which gives the wearer the choice of either carry method without purchasing a separate platform. The paddle allows the holster to go on and come off without undoing a belt, useful when transitioning between plainclothes and uniformed assignments. This specific configuration fits the Glock 17 and Glock 22, is finished in Plain Black, and is set up for right-hand draw.
